BUT....
As you all know, i went to the Passion Regional Conferene @ the Sears Centre the past weekend. The conference consisted of Louie Giglio, John Piper by video, Chris Tomlin, Christy Nockels, Matt Redman, and Kristian Stanfill.
It was nice to have a good wake up call from the Lord, in the midst of all the busy-ness of school, work, etc. I was truly able to worship "all out" with nothing holding me back, and it felt good. I love serving on the praise team, but it's also good to take a break and worship freely yourself.
The sermons were very good, and very motivating. My heart went from stone to jello after hearing them. Louie made a really good point about how God just doesn't want songs sung to him, but wants a worship response consisting of our entire bodies feeding the hungry, giving to the needy, clothing the naked.
My prayer is that this Passion movement had a huge impact on Chicago, and that it changed enough lives that the whole city would change from lukewarm worshipers to lovers of Christ that would worship the Lord from hands all the way to their feet. "For greater things have yet to come, for greater things are still to be done in this city". Amen to that totally.
You know, I never shared this with anyone, but it is a constant struggle for me everyday being a Christian. I go through so much temptations such as laziness, lust, anger, envy, dishonesty....i pretty much fill up all categories of sin. I always tell people I'm doing well, but it's always a lie. But Louie also mentioned the price that Jesus paid. I am in this dark slimy pit, mud, and mire and Jesus hears my cry, and doesn't just "send help", or "throw me a rope". He literally comes down to the slimy pit I'm in, and pulls me out. He took my place in becoming lazy, lustful, envious, angry, dishonest, etc so that I could live freely without the punishment of sin. Amen.
Here are some songs they sang:
